"I wish my life would slow down."  "Some days I feel like I'm going in circles, not getting anywhere."  "Something is always taking me away from home.  I've almost forgotten where home is."

Many of you have made similar statements.  No doubt you were sincere.  I can't give you a plan to help slow down the pace of life, but I can show you "the way home."

ROUTE TO THE LORD

Many people try to make receiving this gift more difficult that it needs to be.  God made His plan of salvation simple.  We really only must believe a few things in order to receive Gods gift.

First we must realize that we are sinners. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."  Sin is disobeying God. If we do not realize that we have sin in our lives, we cannot recognize our need for a Savior. A part of recognizing the need for a Savior is understanding what sin will cost us, if we chose to pay for it our selves.  Romans 6:23a "For the wages of sin is death;..."  If that were the end of the story none of us would have a chance of finding our way home, but there is good news.  God has provided the answer. Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, BUT the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Who is Jesus?  Jesus is God's only Son.  He lived a perfect (sinless) life, He died on a cross to pay the "wages of sin" for everyone else and He rose from the dead.  Because Jesus paid the debt for our sin, we can have eternal life.  John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that anyone who believes on Him would not perish but have eternal life."

How can YOU receive eternal life?1. Admit that you are a sinner. 2. Be sorry that you have sinned and want to change. 3. Believe that Jesus died, rose again, and that He has the power to forgive you.  4.RECEIVE Jesus by asking Him to be you Savior and Lord.

If you want to ask Jesus to be your Savior, pray this simple prayer, "Dear Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and that you rose from the grave.  I now ask you to forgive me of my sins and to save my soul.  Amen."
